Global Citizenship
Respecting Diversity in Care
For my Global Citizenship assignment, I explored how different cultures understand death and dying. My presentation focused on Buddhist practices from Nepal and Muslim practices from Pakistan. Through this work, I learned that death rituals may be different across cultures, but respect, family support, prayer, and dignity are deeply important in many traditions.
This assignment helped me understand the importance of culturally sensitive care. As a PSW, I want to respect each client’s beliefs and support them and their families in a meaningful and compassionate way.
Career Goals
My Professional Goals (2–5 Years)
Over the next two to five years, my goal is to work as a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker in hospital, community, or long-term care settings. I want to continue improving my clinical skills, communication, confidence, and ability to provide excellent care.
In the future, I also hope to continue my education in healthcare and grow into more advanced roles. My long-term goal is to build a strong healthcare career and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people I support.
